The heart of winter
Frosty wind made me groan,
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like gravestones;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow,
To the Snow on snow,
In this cruel winter,
with no where to go.

The blurred horizon really makes it feel like the land goes on forever. I'll have to try that on some of mine.
The only criticism I can come up with is that it lack a point of interest. It has nothing that draws the eye's attention. This is not necessarily a bad thing in this piece, but something to think about. I kind of like it without one...so i dont know...
